Suggest a better description1. Tie spices into cheesecloth and put in a jar. Add alcohol, cover and let steep for 2-3 weeks in a cool dark place, shaking occasionally.
2. Strain, squeezing liquid from spices.
3. Crush spices and simmer in hot water for 10 minuets. Cool and strain into alcohol.
4. Heat sugar in a small saucepan until it caramelizes and turns dark brown. Cool.
5. Add to alcohol and steep 5 days
6. Strain and dilute with half as much water as bitters.
An eyedropper can work great to add the bitters to cocktails.
