Great stuff
Combine karo syrup, cornstarch, sugar, salt and milk in top of double boiler. If using nonstick pan and smooth top stove then double boiler may not be needed. Mix in beaten eggs. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat for about 20 min then 5 min at medium high heat. Will be slightly thickened. Chill. Add vanilla and half and half. Get ready for freezing process and finish the process.
Variation. Chocolate--add 3 oz unsw chocolate to egg mixgture before cooking. When mixture thickens remove from heat and stir til smooth.
