in a bowl, add flour, sugar & salt…whisk to combine…add in chopped cold butter…use hands (pinching motion) or two knives to 'cut in' the butter…add in cold butter-flavored Crisco (use same 'cut in' method)…when finished, use a fork to break up some of the larger chunks (the mixture should resemble large crumbs)…add in the ice water or half-n-half…use a spatula to gently fold in the water JUST until combined (add a bit more if the dough is too dry)…gently shape the dough into a flattened disk…cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
lightly flour a flat surface…divide the dough in 2 pieces (makes 2 pie crusts)…using hands, gently flatten out the dough…fold the dough over in half to make it easier to lift into the pie pan…place into pie pan and use hands to shape…fill with batter & bake
