Suggest a better descriptionTo make this vegan ensure you use syrup and not honey.
1. Line a baking tin or loaf tin with baking parchment.
2.Melt the sugar and syrup/honey together until the sugar is dissolved. Then bring to the boil and boil for 3 minutes exactly-time it!
3. Pour in the bicarbonate of soda and stir quickly. The mixture will bubble up quickly
4. Pour straight into the tin and leave for it to cool and set.
5. Crumble when needed for the top of the pana cotta.
6. The honeycomb, if sealed tightly can be stored in the freezer and it will keep for up to a month.
- Honey or syrup can be used. Traditionally honey is used, in the US they use golden syrup to make "cinder toffee"
- If you have any left, melt some chocolate and dip the honeycomb in the chocolate. Homemade crunchy!
