Cream first 5 ingredients. Add the nuts and oatmeal while mixing.
Spread and press down in a sheet pan, 18 inches by 26 inches. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Press down bread as soon as it is pulled from oven - this keeps it from crumbling. Cut while warm.
