Spread a small amount of mustard on each slice of bread.
With a fork spread a thin layer of ground beef on the bread making sure to spread it out to the edges.
Sprinkle a little onion powder and basil on top and place under a broiler for 3 minutes or so until the meat is brown, and the crust is dark.
Serve with catsup if desired.
The key is the thhickness of the meat as you fork it on. Unless you like it really rare, fork it on very thinly.
