Suggest a better descriptionI recommend cooking this soup in your pressure cooker. It is a complete meal. May be served with a light dessert or fruit.
The best cut of beef for this is the shank (leg) this is the softest, otherwise stewing beef is the next choice.
I don ‘ t know the size of your pressure cooker , if you make a large amount
for many people , just add more liquid without the lid closed.
2 lbs of beef shank cubed
2 large onions chopped
½ cup of vegetable oil or more
3 to 4 tbsp of paprika
caraway seeds 2 tbsp (or powdered caraway)
squeeze from tube
salt to taste
potato cubes ( ratio to meat ½ or to taste)
Carrot slices or chunks
Saute onions in oil, sauté beef cubes , add paprika ,stir in oil and immediately add water , add salt caraway seed . Heat to pressurize. Cook under pressure for ½ hr. slowly. Cool under tap. Open add potatoes , close lid , pressurie and cook for 15 min.. Taste and adjust salt. It is good to have rye bread with it. Remember this is a watery soup not a stew.
