Using large mixing bowl, beat eggs. Mix together sugar & flour and add to eggs. The longer you beat the egg/flour/sugar mixture, the smoother the ice cream. Add the half and half. Stir in fruit.
Pour into freezer can, put in the dasher, and finish filling to 1 1/2” from top with milk. (If you use skim milk, increase amount of half and half.) Assemble the top according to directions. Fill outer can with ice and ice cream salt, alternating as you go. Plug in the freezer or start churning, adding additional ice and ice cream salt as needed. If you are in the heat outside, 1 bag of ice may not be enough. (The times given are a rough guess.)
Any type of sweetened fruit may be used (drain syrup if using canned fruit).
Portions are for gallon size freezer. For Cuisinart ice cream maker: 2 eggs, 3/4 c. Sugar, 2 t. Flour, 2 c. Half & half, 3/4 c. Fruit.
Be careful when you take the dasher out of the freezer can not to allow ANY of the salt or salty ice into the can. It will ruin the ice cream. Also, keep your city slicker friend from pouring the salt water/ice on any growing plant or planting area during clean-up. Salt kills the soil.
