Combine all ingredients except for frozen beans and corn in crock pot*. Cook on low for 10-11 hours, or on high for 5 hours until beans are almost tender. Add ½ of green beans and ½ of corn. Cook another hour until beans are tender. Serve with a crusty loaf of bread.
*This can also be made on the stovetop by bringing dry beans to boil in 5 c. water. Reduce heat, simmer for 2 minutes, and then cover and let stand for 1 hour. Drain and rinse beans. Then add remaining ingredients, except for frozen beans and corn. Bring to boil, and then reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 1½ hours or until beans are tender. Add frozen vegetables and simmer 5 minutes until tender.
