Source : Jack Daniel's
In heavy pan, combine the peaches, nectarines, sugar, water, 1/2 cup of Jack Daniel's and cinnamon stick. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat to softly boil the fruit until it can be pierce easily but is not too soft, about 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, discard the cinnamon stick, and pour the fruit and syrup into a sealable container to the top so no air gets to the fruit. weigh the fruit down with a small bowl so it stays under the syrup. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours. Just before serving, add the remaining 2 T. Jack Daniels and stir to mix well. Serve at room temperature with sprinkled nutmeg.
Tip: Instead of a cinnamon stick, try using a whole vanilla bean for extra flavor.
