These Brass Monkey Jello Shots are actually based on a cocktail recipe of the same name. There are a lot of different versions of this drink, but the most common recipe I found calls for equal parts of rum and vodka mixed with orange juice, so we removed the OJ and got this - enjoy!
Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Dissolve the Jello in boiling water, stirring at least 2 minutes until gelatin is dissolved. Add cold alcohol mixture. Pour the mixture into small plastic cups. Let sit in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Chilling the alcohol before mixing with the Jello makes a more firm jello.
