Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place apple slices in a greased 11 x 7- inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1 c. sugar, eggs, baking powder, and salt; stir to form a THICK batter. Spread batter as evenly as possible over apples.
(This is a little difficult...you'll think that you don't have enough batter.)
In a small bowl, combine 1/4 c. sugar, butter, cinnamon, and pecans; stir. Sprinkle over batter and apples. Sprinkle water over batter and apples.
Bake for 25 min., or until golden brown.
