A friend's family recipe -- great potato soup.
Combine everything into a thick bottom stock or soup pot; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low/med for about an hour stirring occasionally (to make sure the bottom doesn't stick)
Add about 1 tsp of salt to pot before serving
