Dust the meat in the flour.
Then brown the meat in the slow cooker, if possible, else do this on the stove.
Cover the meat with all the other ingredients, except the cornflour and the mixed vegetables.
Cook on high heat for 4 hours in the slow cooker.
At the end of the 4 hours or just ten minutes before the end, add the cornflour to about 2 tablespoons of cold water. Mix this into the casserole, together with the frozen vegetables and allow it to cook for a further ten minutes to cook the vegetables and thicken the stew if necessary.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
