This is an easy and refreshing dessert recipe for kid's to make at home. Have them do most of the steps and just help them out where needed. Most of all, enjoy your time in the kitchen with your little one and have a refreshing dessert to share together afterwards.
Adult: Cut a thin slice off one end of an orange to help it stand up on a plate or cutting board. Carefully slice downwards to remove the skin and pith.
Adult: Cut the orange into thin, round slices.
Child: Arrange some of the orange slices on the base and sides of the gelatin mold or glass bowl.
Child: Pour the orange juice into a measuring cup, add the gelatin granules.
Adult: Carefully top up with boiling water to make 2 1/2 cups in total.
Child: Stir gently until the gelatin granules dissolve. Carefully pour half of the warm liquid gelatin into the gelatin mold, on top of the orange slices.
Child: Put the remaining orange slices on top of the gelatin and then pour over the rest of the liquid mixture. Leave to cool, then chill for at least 6 hours to set.
