Spread chickpeas in 5+ quart slow cooker. layer the carrots, celery, onion, and sweetnpeppers on top of chickpeas. sprinkle with thyme, basil, and black pepper. arrange cubed kielbasa evenly on top of vegetables. pour beef broth over.
Cover slow cooker; cook on low 10 - 11 hours or high 5 - 6 hours or until vegetables sre tender.
If necessary, raise temperature to high. stir hummus, tomato paste and salt into the mixture. Cover. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes longer or until hewted through.
