Kivijeva marmelada je garantirana eksotična uspešnica. Če uspe. Ima sicer male zoprne pečkice, a pri grickanju sploh niso moteče, mnogo manj kot pri jagodni marmeladi. Marmelada ima rahlo kiselkast, a zelo svež in zelo prijeten okus.
Operemo kozarce za vlaganje, jih obrišemo in položimo v toplo pecico, da bodo ogreti.
Pomarance in sladke grenivke ožamemo.
Kivije olupimo in speštamo z vilico v kašo ter stresemo v pomarancno-grenivkin sok. Skupaj dobimo približno en kilogam sadne kaše-soka. Tukaj velja ena na ena. Ni košarka: na en kilogram sladkorja (s pektinom) pride en kilogram sadne kaše. Prelijemo v velik pisker, dodamo ves cuker, malo pomešamo in zapalimo štedilnik.
Mešamo ves cas, dokler zeleni gravž v loncu ne zavre.
Ko zeleni gravž zavre, zmanjšamo ogenj za/na polovico in potem mešamo še najvec deset minut.
Vroca, sladka marmelada je peklensko vroca. Hudicevo vroca zadeva. Zato previdno! Odstranite navdušene in radovedne otroke na varno razdaljo, ker pri prelivanju rado kaj vrocega špricne naokoli. Nalijemo vroco mešanico v tople kozarce (valjda jih prej vzamemo iz pecice) do roba, zapremo pokrovcke in pokrijemo s krpo, da se pocasi ohlaja.
