In large saucepan, stir butter and sugar over low heat. When melted add oatmeal, cool, add eggs and vanilla. Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil, shiny side up. Use a teaspoon to drop dough on foil (leave room to spread). Bake at 325 Degrees for 15 or 20 minutes (depending on oven) Just needs to be brown around the edges. Let completely cool before removing from the foil. If they are not completely cool they will stick to the foil.
