My mother-in-law's excellent recipe
1. Brown meat.
2. Drain.
3. Add next 6 ingredients (garlic, 1 Tbsp parsley flakes, 1 Tbsp dried basil, 1 tsp salt, 1 can (or frozen) stewed tomatoes, 2 cans tomato paste) and stir well.
4. Cook noodles and drain.
6. Combine cottage cheese, eggs, salt, pepper, parsley, and parmesan.
7. Assemble in pyrex. One layer of noodles on bottom, then 1/2 of cottage cheese mixture, then 1/2 of mozzarella, then 1/2 of meat. Repeat for 2nd layer with noodles, 1/2 of cottage cheese mixture, then 1/2 of mozzarella, then 1/2 of meat on top.
NOTE THAT USUALLY THERE WILL BE LEFT-OVER NOODLES
8. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 min.
9. Let set for 15 min. before serving.
