This fruit bread can be served for breakfast or dessert.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the flour mixture alternately with the
milk, beating well after each addition. Begin and end with the flour
Toss the blueberries with 2 teaspoons flour. Fold blueberries and lemon
zest into the batter. Pour into loaf pan.
Bake 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out
clean. Pierce the warm bread with a fork.
Make Lemon Glaze:
Combine sugar and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat until the sugar
dissolves, stirring frequently. Pour over the top of the cake.
Cool in pan 30 minutes or longer. Remove to a wire rack to cool
