Beat eggs and sugar in bowl til thoroughly combined and lightened in color. Beat in butter followed by ricotta, vanilla, zest and buttermilk.
In sep bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add to wet ingredients until well mixed. Fold in berries by hand. Bake in 9" loaf pan that has been greased and floured.
Bake at 350 (preheated oven) for 1 hour. Cool before removing from pan.
