Suggest a better descriptionBeat shortening and sugar (1 cup), add eggs one at a time and sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add rind and nuts. Pour into greased bread pan. 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
Blend 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice. Brush over bread as soon as it comes out of oven
Makes 1 large loaf or 3 small ones.
