Suggest a better descriptionGrate soap into a pot, add just enough water to cover. Melt the grated soap on low heat until dissolved in the water.
Put the washing soda and borax in the 5 gallon bucket. I add a little water and stir it so the powders aren't clumpy.
Add the soap to the bucket, top with hot tap water, stirring frequently until full. I use a gamma seal lid. There are 2 of us in my house (and 2 furry children), and one bucket lasts about 2 months.
Add essential oils at the end to make it smell good if desired.
