Basted with a tasty blend of soy sauce, ginger and garlic, this simple steak cooks up quickly and brings a taste of Asia to your table.
1. Preheat broiler to high.
2. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, sugar, ginger and garlic.
3. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
4. remove 1/2 cup of sauce for basting.
5. Place steak on rack of broiler pan.
6. Brush generously with basting sauce.
7. Broil four (4) inches from heat for 10 minutes.
8. Turn and brush with remaining reserved sauce.
9. Broil an additional 5-6 minutes or until desired doneness.
10. Mix corn starch with water and add to mixture in saucepan.
11. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
12. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally until thickened (8-10 minutes).
13. Let steak stand for two (2) minutes.
14. Slice diagonally across grain.
15. Stir scallions into sauce and serve with steak.
