Add dry macaroni to water and bring to a boil. Simmer and stir until water is mostly absorbed, about 10 minutes.
Lower temperature. Do not drain.
To pot add unsalted butter through Cheddar Cheese, (see ingredient list).
Stir and Simmer about 3 minutes, just until sauce is smooth and creamy.
If desired, pour into buttered dish and top with topping made from last three ingredients.
Place under broiler until crumbs are golden (less than one minute).
This is also good baked for about 20 minutes until "set", and heats well with the addition of a little cream.
Follow the directions and you will get a nicely sauced macaroni and cheese without a lot of steps. Better than any recipes I have tried. Thank you!
