Betty Davis's Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni until done. Butter bottom of casserole dish and add layer of pasta. Add onions, butter, and cheese to layer. Continue adding layers until you run out of pasta. On top layer, add crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs. Add egg to milk and beaten. Then pour enough milk in dish to moisten. Place in oven for 45 minutes to an hour until most of milk is cooked into pasta.
