Cook macaroni.
Make Cream Sauce: melt butter, stir in flour, blend well over low heat. Stir in milk slowly. Stir while bringing to boiling point slowly. Cook 2 more min, stirring constantly.
Melt butter, remove from heat and add bread pieces. Stir until bread is well coated.
Put 1/2 of mac in buttered casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 of cheese. Cover with rest of mac, sprinkle with remainder of cheese. Cover with cream sauce. Cover with bread pieces (croutons).
Bake 350 for 35 min.
