Suggest a better description-Pre-heat oven to 350? F.
-Fill 2 quart pan 3/4 of the way with water; add salt and EVOO and place over medium-high heat.
When water has come to a complete boil, add macaroni and cook until tender, or approximately 8 minutes.
-While the macaroni is cooking, brown the ground beef (or replace with ground turkey if desired.)
-While both are cooking, spray the bottom and sides of a 13x9x2" glass pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Cover the bottom of the pan with part of the grated cheese.
-When the macaroni is finished cooking, drain off excess water, rinse off excess starch with cold water, shake off excess water and let stand for about 3-5 minutes to complete draining water. When water is drained, pour over cheese in oblong pan, making sure that all cheese is covered.
-Cover the macaroni with another layer of cheese.
-When the ground beef is finished, drain all fat off onto paper towels; spread meat evenly over the cheese.
-Pour the cream of mushroom soup in a shaker cup; fill the soup can 1/2 way with milk and add to the soup; shake until blended. Pour over the the meat layer, making certain that all the meat is covered.
-Cover the soup and milk mixture with another layer of cheese.
-Crumble Saltine Crackers completely over the top of the entire casserole.
-Bake at 350? for 1 hour or until cheese and crackers are golden brown.
For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey for ground beef!
