Beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and vanilla in electric mixer until SOFT peaks form.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add sugar gradually and keep beating until STIFF peaks form.
Drop spoonfuls of meringue batter onto greased cookie sheet or parchment paper.
Bake for 17 minutes.
