Preheat the oven to 375 degrees/190 Celsius.Lightly grease 30 holes in 3 standardsize Madeleine pans.Place the butter in a saucepan and heat until melted,then let cool.
Place the eggs,egg yolk,vanilla extract,and sugar in a large bowl and whisk until very pale and thick.sift in the flour and baking powder and fold in,then fold melted butter.Spoon the batter into pans.Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes,or until risen and golden brown.Remove the cakes carefully from the pans and let cool on a wire rack.They are the best served the day they made.
While their baking to not ever open the oven door and if you think you need a little bit more of vanilla extract you can add a little bit more.
