Suggest a better descriptionRub the roast well with the steak rub and place roast in the bottom of a crockpot. Lay the 5 slices of bacon on top of the roast. Put a little water in the pot. Cover and cook all day.
Open, and remove the bacon. Heat oil the bottom of a dutch oven and top carefully with the roast. Top with syrup and 2/3 cup water. Cover and cook another hour.
Open and drain. Reserve the fluid for gravy on another dish. Use 2 forks and pull apart the beef in the dutch oven, then top with BBQ sauce. Mix well. Serve meat on hamburger buns.
