Preheat oven to 400F. Butter muffin tins well.
Combine flour and baking soda and whisk.
Beat eggs with a fork in a large bowl. Stir in sour cream and 1 cup maple syrup.
Add bran flakes, flour mixture and sit just until moistened. Mix in hazlenuts.
Bake 15 min.
For Glaze
Combine butter and maple syrup in small saucepan over medium heat and stir until well blended.
Remove muffins from pan. Place 2 teaspoons of glaze in bottom of each cup. Dip top of muffin into glaze and then return to pan. Let stand 15 minutes to absorb glaze.
