Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place cream in freezer to chill better, for 10 minutes.
Place butter in mircowave-able bowl. cover with paper towel and microwave for 1 minute on high. If not completely melted, return to microwave for 10 second intervals. Set aside to cool.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pecans in large bowl and whisk together.
Combine chilled cream with warm melted butter. Stir with fork until butter forms small clumps or globules.
Add butter and cream mixture to dry ingredients.
Add Maple syrup to taste into cream/dry ingredients bowl and stir with rubber spatula till all flour is incorporated and dough pulls away from sides of bowl.
Adding small amounts of flour if dough is too sticky.
Don't over mix.
Dump dough onto floured surface and turn to coat all surfaces with flour. knead on counter 5-6 times. Flip over on work surface to coat with flour then pat into a circle, with around a 1 inch thickness. Flour the knife before and during the cutting process.
Cut dough in 8 or 12 equal pie shaped pieces. Place wedges of prepared sheet.
Brush tops with cream.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit for a minute then move to cooking rack. Let scones cool a bit before icing.
Combine Butter, maple syrup, half and half , and brown sugar in medium microwave able bowl. cook on high for 1 minute. Whisk well to smooth out any lumps, cook for another minute of until mixture is vigorously bubbling. .
Add vanilla and icing sugar to make a thick but drizzle-able glaze. Adding more icing sugar if thin or more cream if thick.
Drizzle glaze over scones.
