Suggest a better descriptionCook bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels. In a small saucepan, heat syrup and butter until the butter is melted;set aside. Trim crusts from bread, then flatten the slices with a rolling pin. Brush one side with syrup mixture. Then press each slice into an ungreased muffin cup with syrup side DOWN. Divide bacon among muffin cups. Carefully break one egg into each cup. Sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired. Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 18 - 20 minutes (or until eggs reach desired doneness). Serve immediately. This was cut out of a magazine a couple of years ago (maybe Country Woman or Taste of Home). This is one of my familys favorite Saturday breakfasts. I hope you enjoy this as much as we have!!
