Pour maple syrup into baking dish, spreading evenly.
Add half the bread in tightly packed layer.
Combine mascarpone, zest, 1/2c milk and drizzle half over bread layer.
Add next layer with 1 pint of raspberries and top with remaining bread.
Whisk together eggs, remaining milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla.
Pour over bread, pressing lightly to soak each piece.
Top with remaining mascarpone and raspberries.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake 350(F) covered for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake additional 30 minutes or until golden.
