Shortening means Criso here in the South and if you ever run across oleo, thats margarine! This is my grandmothers recipe and it is absolutely wonderful!! Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and Crisco and add sugar. Add eggs one at a time Sift together flour, soda, salt , powder, and cocoa in a separate bowl. Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add Vanilla Pour into tube pan that has been sprayed with Bakers Joy or that has been greased and floured.
