Tradional Mennonite meat-filled buns
1. Place ingredients in breadmaker in order that they appear and start dough cycle. When cycle is done, turn out and punch down. Let rest 10-15 mins,
2. Make a filling out of ground beef, finely chopped sauteed onion, chopped fresh dill and parsley, salt to taste, and a small amount of mashed potato to act a binder to hold the filling together. (Sorry, this is how I got the recipe from my mom! No quantities so I just go by taste. Maybe 1 lb of beef, then 1 tbps each of dill and parsley, 1/2 tsp of salt and maybe a 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes?).
3. Make buns by flattening a small ball of dough (just smaller than golf ball) and adding a small spoonful of filling to middle. Pinch closed and place seam on bottom.
4. Let buns rise 45 min to 1 hour. Brush with egg wash. Bake at 375f for 20-25 minutes or til browned.
