1. In food processor, pulse pecans & 3T confectioners' sugar together, until very finely ground.
2. In a small bowl, whisk ground pecans, flour, baking soda, and salt until blended.
3. In a large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, beat until well mixed in. Reduce speed to low, gradually beat in flour just until blended.
4. Preheat oven to 350. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
5. Bake 12-15 minutes, until light gold brown. Let stand on cookie sheets 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool.
6. Roll cookies in rest of confectioners' sugar.
