Nobody will tell this was made in the microwave and in under 15 minutes! It is wonderful and a great family treat! Also, works great as a gift giver.
Combine sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil in 2 qt. glass microwave safe dish, (approx. 2-3 min.) then cook on high power for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and add soda. Put popped corn in brown paper grocery bag. Pour syrup over corn. Close bag and shake. Cook in bag on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Take out and shake again. Return it to microwave for another 1 1/2 minutes. (May need additional 1 1/2 minutes.) Pour into large pan or on kitchen table top to cool. Lay foil or wax paper for easy clean up!
Please be extremely careful as the carmel is HOT! **HINT**Some people prefer to separate the popped corn and unpopped kernels while the carmel is cooking as it is easier to due before the carmel is on and cooled.
