Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 375°. Roll dough on floured surface and line the bottom of the pie pan with it.
Peel and slice apples. Mix sugar and spices together. Pour sugar mixture over fruit and stir until well mixed and coated.
Fill pie shell with apple mixture. Dot with pats of butter.
Roll out dough for top on floured surface, and make it larger than usual. Cover pie with top dough. Pinch edges, cut off excess, crimp top and bottom together, and cut some slices into top. Dust top with a little sugar.
Loosely cover edges of pie with aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning and bake for forty five minutes.
Allow to cool at least 20 minutes before serving.
Makes 1 pie.
