Heat butter & oil in saucepan.
Add onion, celery & carrot.
Cook, stirring til onion transparent.
Add bacon bones, lentils, undrained tomatoes - crushed, water & stock cubes.
Cover, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer covered 1 1/2 hours or til lentils are tender.
Remove and discard bacon bones.
Season with pepper, add parsley.
