Serve with sponge cake and whipped cream
NIGHT BEFORE: Mix all berries. Toss with lemon juice and 2 tbsp sugar. Refrigerate overnight.
Pour accumulated liquids/juices into sauce pan. Stir in brandy, rest of sugar, cornstarch, allspice and vanilla. Heat to bubbling and beginning to thicken.
Add 1/2 (or less) of berry mixture and cook just until bubbling. Remove from heat and let cool.
Add cooked berries to berry mixture and mix.
Serve w/ sponge cake and whipped cream (or ice cream).
