Grandma Jean's recipe. Both Mom and Grandma made these for Christmas.
- Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, and molasses together.
- Add dry ingredients.
- Chill.
- Make dough into balls and dip in sugar and put on greased cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with 2-3 drops of water.
- Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
