With stand mixer, beat butter for at least thirty seconds on medium
Add two cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, and mix thoroughly, The mixture will be very dry.
Add the vanilla, one cup of powdered sugar, and two tablespoons milk. Mix till smooth.
Repeat sugar and milk until frosting is of spreading consistency
05/09/20--This is my Mother's Day cake. I used 6 cups sugar and 8 TB milk, and the frosting was just enough. I think I will try 7 cups sugar and 10 TB milk next time--more is better!
07/09/20--Howard wanted chocolate frosting, and so I added 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled. I used 8 1/2 tablespoons of milk. I also really whipped the heck out of the frosting--it came out fluffy and great.
