Peel and dice potatoes. Dice onion. Put in large pot and add water (or chicken broth) to cover well. Add a few whole allspice. When onions and potatoes are done, add some of the hot broth to the sour cream and mix. Then slowly add mixture to pot. Salt and pepper to taste.
