Preheat to 350(F).
Wash and slice potatoes.
Grease 2qt casserole dish and arrange a layer of potatoes. Sprinkle 3 layers with 1T onion, 1T flour, 1/2t salt, dash of pepper and dot with chunks of 1T butter, sprinkle top w/ remaining onion, salt, pepper and butter.
Heat milk to scalding and pour over casserole.
Cover and bake 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake another 60minutes
