Saute mushrooms in 1 tablespoon butter. Dissolve beef cubes in water. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter and blend with flour. Add cream, salt and pepper, and beef broth. Put in mushrooms and sauce in buttered casserole dish. Mix bread crumbs and cheese and sprinkle on top. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
