Cream together shortening, sugar, vanilla, eggs (blend yolks in, beat whites until they are stiff, then fold in), water and tomatoes one at a time.
Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
Mix dry mixture into creamy mixture.
Bake in two greased and floured cake pans at 350(F).
Frost with chocolate butter frosting. Top with strawberries.
