This apple pie is always a request for holiday dinners.
Add cooking oil and butter to first two ingredients and stir with fork to make pebbly mixture. Add 3 T ice water, stir with fork, and knead 5 or 6 times until ingredients are all blended in (don’t handle it too much or the dough will get tough). Form into ball, dust with flour, wrap in waxed paper, and refrigerate ½ hour (no more) for easier rolling.
Meanwhile make TOPPING by mixing the four ingredients.
Place sliced apples in crust in 9 inch pie plate. Sprinkle first with lemon juice, then with topping. Bake 425° first 10 minutes (to brown crust), then bake at 350° for another 35-40 minutes until crust is done and apples are tender when pricked with a fork.
