1) Heat the Newman's Own Sockarooni tomato sauce in a covered pot, adding the bourbon and all spices.
2) Brown the meat in a large frying pan.
3) Dice the onion, leeks, and fresh jalapenos (I use a spoon to first remove their white cores and seeds), and saute in olive oil for 10 minutes, stirring often.
4) Transfer all contents to a slow cooker, and cook on high for two and a half hours.
NOTE: Supermarket versions of chili powder and paprika are inferior. I use Medium Hot Chili Powder and Hungarian 1/2 Sharp Paprika from www.thespicehouse.com.
